Webrecently my 2001 Jeep Cherokee has been idleing rough once it warms up. At first I thought maybe I got some bad gas. But doesn't seem that way. It runs rough when the engine warms up, slower traffic (like going thru town) and when the gas gauge is around a quarter of a tank. It also tries to quit on me on starting up when running errands in town. WebAug 5, 2014 · The jeep is a solid axle vehicle and will have a stiffer ride than most others. They are not designed to be driven fast off-road out of the box. It takes a lot of custom suspension work to accomplish this feat. I agree with the tire pressure, that is the number one culprit of a rough ride, esp since you have decent shocks.
