WebbI made this post a few days back regarding tables that had irregularly updated values (slowly changing dimensions). IMO this technique with the "fill down" dates was the best to suit those tables specifically if you wanted them to behave as if the dimensions were updated DAILY with identical data from the previous date (if there was no change).
